Hyacinth Bucket makes her debut in this series premiere as a pretentious, middle-class housewife determined to hide her less-than-fastidious relations from the public. Way back in the day I used to watch the Eurovision song contest religiously. I didn’t care what language the entries in it. There was something irresistable about the way it was a European thing and it was all in good spirit. Something the Yanks weren’t part of.
Anyway… this song is from Eurovision Song Contest 1996, Portugal’s entry by Lucia Moniz. It’s called ‘O meu coraà §Ãƒ £o nà £o tem cor’. I have no idea why it stuck in my head these last twelve years, as I can’t even understand the lyrics, and it’s not even musically great. But stick in my head it has… and finally I can put this issue that’s been bugging me for 12 years to rest, now that I know the singer and song name.
A while back I found some rather awesome music videos from the U.S Navy’s VAW-116 Hawkeye Squadron and one from USS Ronald Reagan. If you want a laugh, check them out! AWESOME directing and editing skills.
Being hot helps, but this woman’s singing is about as mindblowing as it gets.
