My mate Nate Winishut is a Sergeant in the U.S Army. Deployed to Iraq twice to kick ass and take names, all the while Nate was developing his musical skills to what I think are a superb level. He got together with a dude called Ben Tolman and created a band called ‘Once Upon Us’. This is one of their tracks:
I was going to the bank in the morning and saw some bloke sitting outside CIBC at around 9am in the morning. Seeing as there wasn’t much business for him, I bought him tea, gave him $15 in change and paid him $20 to sing me a song.
Austin was travelling west to get to central British Columbia. One of the nicest guys I’ve met in a long time – a lot nicer than most people in this town.
Austin – when you read this, send me a way to contact you through my contact form here…
Free MP3 download: Stand by Me - Andy Madadian ft. Bon Jovi (755)
On June 24, Iranian Superstar Andy Madadian went into an LA recording studio with Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and American record producers Don Was and John Shanks to record a musical message of worldwide solidarity with the people of Iran. This version of the old Ben E. King classic is not for sale – it was not meant to be on the Billboard charts or even manufactured as a CD…..it’s intended to be downloaded and shared by the Iranian people…to give voice to the sentiment that all people of the world stand together….the handwritten Farsi sign in the video translates to “we are one”. If you know someone in Iran – or someone who knows someone in Iran – please share this link

About nineteen months ago I put up a post with a collection of the best Michael Jackson impersonators I’ve seen. Since then most of the videos have been taken down by their users.
Aside from the recent furore I’ve been a die-hard Jackson fan for the last twenty-five years and have listened to his music every day for pretty much the entire twenty-five years. Check my mp3 player in my car and you’ll find at least half a dozen songs on there plus another half dozen remixes. I’ve watched many many Michael Jackson impersonators. By far two of the best I’ve ever seen were some teenager who was performing at a highschool dance – the vid was on Youtube and the user removed it. The other one of course is Suleman Mirza who was on Britain’s Got Talent – his original performance blew me away.
Because the previous list got ruined by people removing their vids I decided to recreate it with different people.
Off the bat, this guy ‘Hafid’ is brilliant. If he used dress pants instead of jeans, had a fullsize fedora hat, and sharpened up his moves just ever so slightly he’d be close to the best.
Here he is in Times Square… even with crappy quality you can see he’s got the moves down!
This guy Ben Jackson would be awesome if he wasn’t so bloody tall.
The height is getting in his way – longer legs makes it harder to do the moves.
Like holy cow man… I now wish more than ever that I could get British prime time television here in Canada. I’ll let the videos speak for themselves…
