Memories of More House

As I’m slowly getting back into contact with various former residents of More House I figured I would put up some photo galleries, so that people can reminisce about the good old days!

Vancouver

This blog is coming at you from the Pacific Palisades Hotel in downtown Vancouver.   Lorraine was on a business trip and invited me along and so along I flew.

The mountains are definitely something awe inspiring when you first see them.   Vancouver at night is similar to what I’m sure foreigners feel about London at night, or how I feel about Piccadilly at night.   The fact that there’s a French Connection store here says a lot about the type of city it is.

Also I’ve met a lot of Yanks – all of them have been nice… but no matter where you are, you can always tell an American even when they don’t speak.

I took a walk today whilst Lorraine was in the business meeting and it started raining.   During that walk I bought what I call a ‘Spike’ tshirt.   It’s white with block black letters with a black arrow pointing downwards that says ‘Get It Here’.   If you’ve seen the movie ‘Notting Hill’ you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about.

Reckon  we’re going to hit a casino tonight and check out the aquarium with the whales tomorrow.

Lorraine thinks I’m crazy, but I’m determined to swim in the Pacific Ocean even though it’s probably below freezing temperature!

Wossit mean to be British?

Katherine Whitehorn has written a splendid piece on what it means to be British.   The first part is centred around Britain’s involvement in allowing the Yanks to torture Binyam Mohamed.   Check it out: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/magazine/7955406.stm

The King does it again!

IN YOUR FACE you hating bitches! As is quite evident by a news story on BBC website, tickets have completely sold out for the 50 dates Michael Jackson’s going to be performing at the O2 Arena.

According to the BBC news story:

Hundreds of fans queued at the venue as tickets went on sale to the public and over a quarter of a million people queued online.

More than a million tickets to see the veteran pop star have now been sold.

Some 360,000 tickets were sold to registered fans before sales opened on Friday morning.
Organisers say the This Is It tour has become the fastest-selling in history, with 33 seats sold each minute.

So anyone who says he’s a washed up has-been can suck a fat one!   For real Michael Jackson fans it was never in doubt – that was only the hating bitches or moronic sheep who judged him based upon some allegations.

Who should succeed to the British throne?

Assuming that we’re going to completely ignore the fact that , that they’re mostly Greek and German, and that the Monarchy is reminiscent of an age where money and class mattered more than respect, democracy and basic human rights… who should the British public be content with being their Monarch?

Practical Priorities

I was speaking to someone today and I became just a touch angry… as I found out once again, as is the story of my life, that people assume too much.

The person was saying that they were shocked to find out that I feel worse about losing a lady I love to another man than I do about my mother passing on.

I look at it from a practical realistic point of view.   My mother is dead and has been for ten years.   It is final and Read more...

25 Things About Me

  1. I think crying is for wimps – I only ever remember crying about four times in my life.
  2. I get very seriously offended when people don’t believe what I say or call me a liar.
  3. I was pleasantly corrupted by an 11year old girl when I was 9.
  4. I’ve a deep passion for 80′s music. I’m almost a male version of those burnt out 80′s chick you still see walking around with big hair and leggings on.
  5. I don’t like my smile and have only ever seen three photos of myself smiling which I liked.
  6. I miss rollerblading to work in London.
  7. I get hot under the collar when I smell pumpkin and apple cinnamon candles (both at the same time).
  8. I feel horrible waking up if I sleep more than four hours a night.
  9. I used to have a recurring dream where I could hover / fly horizontally about three feet off the ground by jumping into the air and straightening out, and have always wanted to see if I could, but am too afraid of breaking bones.
  10. Most of the time I successfully handle emotional problems by ignoring them. Dealing with them head-on doesn’t work for me. If I just ignore something I’m all good!
  11. I’ve gone hungry more than once so I could lend a friend $10 to buy tampons.
  12. I think drug dealers of any sort are unpleasant people who deserve a bullet and a ditch.
  13. I get irritated when people act surprised when they learn I’m half black.
  14. Forgiveness is not in my nature. I can let things slide, but I don’t forgive and never forget.
  15. I don’t love often but when I do I fall like a ton of bricks – it’s all or nothing.
  16. I fall in love far easier than I fall out of love.
  17. I’ll forever be ashamed that I once told my mother her hair was embarrassing me when she visited me at More House about 15 years ago.
  18. I want to do extremely harmful things to my high-school bully Anthony Marr.
  19. EVERYONE who’s ever done me wrong in my life has been female – with the obvious exception of that silly person Charlie Hursey.
  20. I very badly want more children, even though common sense is telling me I shouldn’t yet.
  21. I dwell on the past about 10 hours out of every day.
  22. All I ever want now a child, a house made out of bricks, and a kickass Yamaha Clavinova piano.
  23. I feel most comfortable when I’m sad – it’s what I’m used to.

Israel finally pays for a murder they say they did not commit

The family of James Miller (the British journalist shot dead by an Israeli soldier in Gaza) have accepted a payment  of £1.5million from Israel.

Israel have not admitted they murdered James Miller – or made an official apology, but this is the closest thing the Miller family will ever get.

It’s pretty crazy – considering that after Palestinian thugs fired rockets into Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert vowed a disproportionate response.  It’s the first time I’ve seen a country loudly and proudly proclaiming they’ll overreact and no other country says a word about it.

If Love Was A Song

This silly person has been one hell of a rollercoaster and still is. Sorry but it isn’t going away – it will just get hidden far more efficiently.

I’ve been looking for ways to illustrate to myself how I’m feeling so I could try and take control of my emotions. Words never seem to do it but music never fails. So here’s a song that reflects how I’m feeling or what I’m thinking.

Maybe it is because the song is in my favourite movie, but the following song does a splendid job of illustrating how love would sound if it was a piece of music.

Mixed race people are the bomb

You know that being mixed race myself naturally I’m going to say folks who are racial cocktails like myself are awesome.   But I figured I’d post a few pictures of awesome looking people who are mixed race.   I’ll post a few blokes just to be fair.
