A possible political assassination
When Barack Obama first won the Presidency, I was somewhat convinced that some looney right wing redneck racist was going to make a serious attempt to kill the President. I’m sure he’s had plenty of death threats – but I am entirely convinced that the United States Secret Service know what they’re doing and have his safety well in hand.
There is another highly visible politician with far more of a chance of being physically murdered / assassinated. Olympia Snowe is a moderate Republican Senator in the representing Maine, U.S.A. Currently President Obama is trying to pass a healthcare reform bill that will give healthcare coverage to almost all Americans. British soldier does the biz!
It takes a real soldier to do this sort of stuff…
A soldier from Selby has been awarded the Military Cross – the third-highest gallantry award – for his bravery during a Taliban ambush in Afghanistan.
L/Cpl Cpl Colin Spooner, 22, of the 2nd Battalion, The Princess of Wales’ Royal Regiment, suffered extensive shrapnel wounds in the attack last October.
Despite intense pain, he continued giving orders and refused a stretcher as it would be a drain on manpower.
The Army said he had shown “exemplary leadership and courage”.
L/Cpl Spooner was leading a patrol in Helmand when they came under attack by about 40 Taliban fighters armed with rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns.
As he ran back and forth across an exposed compound to relay messages to his comrades, a shell exploded directly behind him.
He was thrown into the air and suffered 32 shrapnel wounds.
Receiving his award at a ceremony in Plymouth on Thursday, L/Cpl Spooner said: “One of my mates came out , dragged me back into cover and gave me medical attention.
“Due to the amount of fire that was coming it would have taken four blokes to carry me so I took it upon myself to walk as much as I could so those four blokes could carry on fighting.”
He said he was “very proud” to receive the Military Cross, but was also proud of his regiment and the support they had given him.
“My mum was overwhelmed [by the award],” he said.
“My mum cried. My dad shed a little tear.”
A Ministry of Defence spokesman said: “Spooner’s decisive action, exemplary leadership and courage as Section Commander with B Company Group contributed enormously to the successful outcome of a difficult situation.
“His outstanding contribution took place despite extraordinarily dangerous circumstances and the pain that resulted from the extensive shrapnel wounds he had incurred.”
Makes me proud to be British seeing our boys step up and open a can of whoop ass on those murdering fucks!
The necessity of any armed force
I was having a little bit of a discussion with a friend yesterday about people who join the Canadian Forces. The lady I was talking to said she supported their decision but does not like the army.
She went into a rant in greater detail and explained that she hates the way young people often are victims in armed conflict and that war is profitable to major corporations.
I tried to be neutral and explain that whenever there’s an armed conflict and soldiers are sent into battle – they don’t go into a battle for profit; at least a Canadian soldier’s primary motivation into going into battle isn’t to get rich. I told her that Canadian soldiers serve and stand on the front line or stand on a wall to protect her and the rest of Canada’s population while they sleep, and that there’s a need for that.
I also told her about the bumper sticker I saw that reads ‘If you don’t support our troops, feel free to stand in front of them’. Interesting caption huh?
Apple Macs suck
Recently I’ve been having a semi-debate with a friend of my sister’s on Facebook about Apple Macintosh computers. I followed the debate up by having a laugh at the Get A Mac advertisements on television. I have to give Apple their dues… those ads are side splittingly hilarious! So obviously I started to look for anti-Mac ads. I came across this one…

If you’re a damned retard than a mac is for you, because it has all those pretty buttons and ‘easy’ to? use interfaces, but what people don’t realize is that they’re pieces of crap. They freeze up all the time, all they can do is edit photos and videos and they cause a crap load of money. Face the facts….MACS SUCK. i love it when my neighbors mac locks up..and he calls me over to fix it. So there I was looking at the Mac Pro. Sure was expensive,? but the site said it was so powerful! Then I realized I was using a PC vastly more powerful than that, and that combined with my printer, scanner, monitor and all other accessories had come out to cost less than half the basic price of the Mac Pro!That sure is some Apple Tax!

According to this next news story… smoking costs the NHS more than £5billion a year. I’ve been saying all along that smokers shouldn’t get free health care. Let them pay their own damn costs instead of the taxpayer. Makes me sick that non-smokers should have to pay to help people who voluntarily and willingly ruin their own health!
The Daily Mail reports that Gordon Brown imposed a spending limit in Afghanistan during 2006, which basically restricted the British Army in doing things like fighting, patrols, etc.

That is where (to my knowledge still) Myra and Derek Anscombe live. Without going into too much detail they are my former foster parents who abused me terribly – so badly their son Martin checked himself into a psychiatric unit when he was an adult. If you view this shot of the football fields near their house… you’ll see a small path going along the right side of it. That path was paved with sharp stone chips when I was six years old and that path holds very bad memories for me. In the centre of this image you can view a group of flats (apartments) where I had to go and scrounge food daily from the dumpsters in the concrete parking lot on the lower side of the flats. Very many bad bad things happened to me there which still have an effect on how I react to various situations nearly twenty-five years later.
Arnold Schwarzenegger
I used to idolise Arnie back when he made movies. Then when I found out his old man was a member of the Nazi Party I disliked him. I then disliked him even more after he refused clemency for Tookie Williams (who I used to think was innocent of the crimes for which he was being executed).
But since he became Governor of California my admiration for him has shot through the roof. Contrary to popular opinion he isn’t a muscle-bound meathead but is extremely intelligent. Check out the following Youtube video of him speaking at CSULB:
The thing that’s given me the most admiration for him is his willingness to go against the previous White House adminstration on various issues about greenhouse gas emissions. He’s also converted a Humvee he owns to use Hydrogen which apparently cost him $21,000 for the conversion.

Ultimate Fighter : US vs UK
Everytime I see something on television where the United Kingdom is pitted against the United States of America I get happy – whether our side wins or loses. But it’s a particular pleasure when our side has more charisma and presence than the Yanks – yes, I’m talking about the Ultimate Fighter : US vs UK.
Back in the U.K I pretty much hated anyone with a northern accent – but on this show I find myself loving the fact that scouse accents can be heard when those Yank twats are acting like arseholes and drawing on people’s boots. I LOVE BRITISH ACCENTS!
I’m so used to seeing silly persons on television with North American accents trying to act hard, so it’s definitely awesome to see someone on television from home who is actually hard, and not just acting hard.
An Old Man’s Testicles
I was going to the gym about three weeks ago and one of the regular OAP’s that goes there was in the gym room before me – bare-assed naked. His balls were hanging down between his legs as he was bent over and they were literally the biggest testicles I’ve ever seen in my life. THEY WERE HUGE!
If you’ve ever seen Jackass where Johnny Knoxville dresses up as an old man, and gets fake ol man balls in his shorts you’ll know what I mean.
Two scenarios ran through my head – either the guy’s got a crapload of kids all over the place, or he doesn’t get off very often. Any females want to give him a mercy job?
