Right and wrong

This is possibly going to be my last post for the next two months – as I start my BMQ in Winnipeg tomorrow!  So I figured I’d just do a bullet list to simplify the points.

Apple Macs suck

Recently I’ve been having a semi-debate with a friend of my sister’s on Facebook about Apple Macintosh computers.  I followed the debate up by having a laugh at the Get A Mac advertisements on television.  I have to give Apple their dues… those ads are side splittingly hilarious!  So obviously I started to look for anti-Mac ads.  I came across this one…

One of the funnier things are some of the comments on Youtube…

another thing you cant do if you own a mac is shut the fuck up about why your machine is better. it’s actually only a better machine if you’re a hippy making collages of flowers. A friend of mine told me that he’s going to buy a mac and just put vista on it, so he wins twice. except macs are probably more expensive than a custom computer with more power than a mac? can even compute without crashing.

If you’re a f**king retard than a mac is for you, because it has all those pretty buttons and ‘easy’ to? use interfaces, but what people don’t realize is that they’re pieces of shit. They freeze up all the time, all they can do is edit photos and videos and they cause a shit load of money. You can get can a normal mac desktop for like $2000 while you can get a decked out pc for like $800-$1000. Overall fuck off macs.

Haha..i totally agree with what all of you say. This shit is so gay how mac people think they are god. Face the facts….MACS SUCK. i love it when my neighbors mac locks up..and he calls me over to fix it. Yeh..and the nice HP next to him is happily working while my best friend is laughing at his dad with his garbage imac. YAY PC…btw W 7..same thing as vista..its Vista SP2.. but cuz vista has a bad name…ppl like? 7 better…same thing..Vistas are good…as long as u no what to fix

PC= easy? and fun
MAC= hard and ‘fun’ and expensive and slow and crossover and errors and no downloading crap and no f**king right clicking and the f**king speak function that won’t shut the fuck up and shit and crap and bullcrap and shitty piece of shit and some more shit!

And PCs= simple.

So there I was looking at the Mac Pro. Sure was expensive,? but the site said it was so powerful! Then I realized I was using a PC vastly more powerful than that, and that combined with my printer, scanner, monitor and all other accessories had come out to cost less than half the basic price of the Mac Pro!

That sure is some Apple Tax!

Apple: A tax on the ignorant.

Here’s a funny video entitled ‘Mac morons can’t talk without using their hands’…

Wotever

I reckon it’s definitely a positive thing that the Pakistani military is sending helicopter gunships to help the civilians who are banding together to fight the Taliban. With a nuclear arsenal – it’s quite obvious to anyone with a  brain that Pakistan is the greatest threat to world peace.  It’s immensely reassuring that Pakistan’s considerable population are against the Taliban.

According to this next news story… smoking costs the NHS more than £5billion a year.  I’ve been saying all along that smokers shouldn’t get free health care.  Let them pay their own damn costs instead of the taxpayer.  Makes me sick that non-smokers should have to pay to help people who voluntarily and willingly ruin their own health!

Another story reports that Gordon Brown imposed a ridiculous spending limit in Afghanistan during 2006, which basically restricted the British Army in doing things like fighting, patrols, etc.  That sort of stupid incompetence is one reason why Britain’s cabinet is all fucked up right now.

On a good note… I go for Basic Military Qualification in Winnipeg on July 2nd, and then off to Soldier Qualification during August.

A serious blast from the past

How many people remember these videos?

This first one was my childhood hero… I always wanted him to come and save the day whenever anything went wrong.

This next one was responsible for me wanting to eat bananas for the rest of my life when I was young.

Jimbo was my favourite toy growing up.

Britain Really Does Have Talent

Like holy cow man…  I now wish more than ever that I could get British prime time television here in Canada.  I’ll let the videos speak for themselves…

Important places on Google Maps for me

  • My mother’s last house
  • My last apartment in London
There were four apartments – mine was the lower right above the garage.  The SMOKING HOT crackhead Lisa lived above me.  The thin side window on the right closest to the edge of the building on my apartment is the window that Lisa’s crackhead buddies crept in and burgled my place.
  • More House
The place where I spent most of my formative years rebelling against Father McCabe.  The newer buildings in the back didn’t used to be there, and neither did the newer building to the left of the main house.  This is the place where I still have most amount of my happiest memories.  Seeing the house redeveloped like this makes me a little sad for some reason.
  • Crendon Park
This is the road where all of my worst memories and childhood experiences happened.  In the main group of houses in the centre, on the bottom row… the fourth house from the left is number 8. That is where (to my knowledge still) Myra and Derek Anscombe live.  Without going into too much detail they are my former foster parents who abused me terribly – so badly their son Martin checked himself into a psychiatric unit when he was an adult.  If you view this shot of the football fields near their house… you’ll see a small path going along the right side of it.  That path was paved with sharp stone chips when I was six years old and that path holds very bad memories for me.   In the centre of this image you can view a group of flats (apartments) where I had to go and scrounge food daily from the dumpsters in the concrete parking lot on the lower side of the flats.  Very many bad bad things happened to me there which still have an effect on how I react to various situations nearly twenty-five years later.

Arnold Schwarzenegger

I used to idolise Arnie back when he made movies. Then when I found out his old man was a member of the Nazi Party I disliked him.  I then disliked him even more after he refused clemency for Tookie Williams (who I used to think was innocent of the crimes for which he was being executed).

But since he became Governor of California my admiration for him has shot through the roof.  Contrary to popular opinion he isn’t a muscle-bound meathead but is extremely intelligent. Check out the following Youtube video of him speaking at CSULB:

The thing that’s given me the most admiration for him is his willingness to go against the previous White House adminstration on various issues about greenhouse gas emissions. He’s also converted a Humvee he owns to use Hydrogen which apparently cost him $21,000 for the conversion.

Check out this story about the California Hydrogen Highway Network initiative.

I don’t see many other politicians around the world putting words about the environment into action like Arnie is.

Ultimate Fighter : US vs UK

Everytime I see something on television where the United Kingdom is pitted against the United States of America I get happy – whether our side wins or loses.  But it’s a particular pleasure when our side has more charisma and presence than the Yanks – yes, I’m talking about the Ultimate Fighter : US vs UK.

Back in the U.K I pretty  much hated anyone with a northern accent – but on this show I find myself loving the fact that scouse accents can be heard when those Yank twats are acting like arseholes and drawing on people’s boots.  I LOVE BRITISH ACCENTS!

I’m so used to seeing idiots on television with North American accents trying to act hard, so it’s definitely awesome to see someone on television from home who is actually hard, and not just acting hard.

An idea for Israel

Some people think that Israel is due for some sour relations with the United States because Benjamin Netanyahu is a right-wing asshole who should be shipped off to Australia, and the United States now has a President with a brain and the courage to do what’s right in stating that the Palestinian need their own internationally recognised country in the internationally recognised borders around the West Bank and Gaza.

What I don’t understand is why Israel does not guarantee a COMPLETE withdrawal from the West Bank and East Jerusalem and guarantee an enforcement of equal rights for Israeli Arabs in return for the guaranteed full military support of an American CVBG in the event of an armed conflict with Iran…

Military stuff

As the time draws near, just a few days away, my interest in the military seems to be increasing. The American war machine claims to be the most efficient in the world, certainly the most funded… but they can’t seem to train their soldiers to stop sexual harassment or assault on its female personnel. There’s a story on BBC News which details female American soldiers carrying a knife to defend themselves against members of their own platoon.  My first thought was that the movie ‘The General’s Daughter‘ was fiction and that sort of thing didn’t happen in real life. It’s disgusting that the upper echelons in the U.S military damn well know this goes on but do diddly about it.

On another note… the Canadian Defence Minister  Peter Mackay sent me a letter a couple of weeks late regarding my application to join the Canadian Forces.  Would have been nice had it arrived in a timely fashion.  He also said recently in Parliament that Canada’s Federal Government wouldn’t accept any Cyclone MH-92 helicopters that were ordered for the Canadian Forces unless they have the ability to fly if the main gearbox loses oil pressure.  I think I’m going to volunteer for the Conservatives campaign next election.
