Being very aware that I’m very shortly going to enlist in the Canadian military – I’ve been asking myself why I am doing so, and what do I hope to achieve.
As it happened, someone sent me a Youtube link to the song ‘Shut up’ by the Black Eyed Peas. Following the related videos links I came across ‘Where is the love’ by the Black Eyed Peas. For a while I wasn’t too fond of the song and it irritated me. But now it’s one of my definite favourites. I was watching the video and listening to the message they’re giving – which is in line with the way I think and feel about the world. That made me realise that I’ll be signing up to fight for peace. To fight for a better world where good people are free to spread love, and bad people aren’t able to make the world a shitty place for the rest of us. That’s my dream and what I’ll be fighting for.
Of course, you get looney left liberal wankers who think all that nonsense about ‘a pen is mightier than the sword’, ‘don’t make war make love’, etc and all those other decadent hippy bullshit phrases from the 60′s. But fighting IS necessary in a world that isn’t perfect. War IS necessary in some circumstances to protect those who cannot protect themselves.
The image you see here is going to be my next tattoo which will cover up the fuckup on my right shoulder that the bald-headed twit in Camden Lock did about eight years ago.

Good for you!! That is also my next tattoo, I’ve been planning it for some time now. I love the message that song sends also. Being a victim of a very violent crime against myself and my 2 kids, the message in that song has brought me through some very hard days. For me that tattoo will signify a personal triumph… hopefully helping in my struggle to slay that demon from my past! Good luck to you in your fight for what’s right and good in this world of ours!!

Now this is what i am talking about, someone that is going into the army to actually fight for peace, now that is something I admire a lot, not for the fame or the recognition, for the ending of war and nonequality. Nice job, and I love the song as well.
