As I desperately want to visit Israel and Palestine as soon as humanly possible I was stoked to see that Israel let Fatah members into Israel escaping persecution from Hamas.

What Israel needs to do is remove ALL Israeli settlements in the West Bank COMPLETELY, and if they must build that wall then building it along the internationally recognised border for the West Bank. Couple that with returning the Golan Heights, and allowing complete and full weapons shipments to Abu Mazen’s forces, and access through Israel to the Gaza Strip to beat the bastards in Hamas into submission, Israel could gain peace and security.

Israel absolutely has the right to exist… it just needs to make some painful concessions, and make better use of it’s undeniably superior military and intelligence to target the bad guys in Hamas and Hezbollah instead of murdering civilians. Along with reigning in Israeli soldiers and civilians who commit crimes against Palestinians instead of brushing them under the carpet, Israel would be on the road to peace rapidly.

On another note, whilst I respect Russia for showing the world that Russia is a force to be reckoned with, I think their constant meddling in Georgia is going to start a regional war. Putting 1000 peacekeeping troops in South Ossetia is a blatant violation of Georgia’s sovereignty and are only there to stir some shit. I saw a news story about South Ossetia’s leadership are evacuating children from the region. Georgia is concerned because they think seperatists are gearing up for a war which is almost certainly going to happen. Russia needs to stop meddling. I understand why – they don’t want western military and economic forces bordering Russia, but they need to realise that the west truly doesn’t see Russia as an enemy anymore. Russian President Medvedev is simply a pawn of former President Putin.
