Canada’s military getting the shaft

Even though I’m not yet a voter… I was very pleased when the Conservatives came to power for one reason only – their defence procurement was thought to go sky high.

The Prime Minister’s promises of asserting Canada’s sovereignty in the Arctic was a splendid idea.  I’m not against the government spending lots of my taxes on Canada’s military.  I’ve always been of the opinion that Canada needs to add in the very least 40,000 regular troops to the Army, about 20,000 to the Air Force and at least 20,000 to the Navy.

I was less than pleased to find out the Conservative government cancelled a $2.9billion order to replace Canada’s antiquated supply ships, and 12 midshore patrol boats.

Two groups bidding said the ships couldn’t be built with the budget the government had set aside.  Wouldn’t logic state then for the dumbasses in Parliament to SET ASIDE MORE?  All this nonsense about budgets, not enough, balance the books yadda yadda yadda… all they need to do is pay for the ships.  Take whatever’s needed for our taxes and pay the damn bill for the boats. IDIOTS!

I just don’t understand why Canadians have spent the last 30 years f**king over their military.

Canada’s reliance upon the United States for defence of the homeland is sickening.  One day the Yanks are going to say ‘your porous borders are a national security threat to us.  fix it or we will’…
