25 More Things About Me

  1. I try to emulate my Aunt Jennifer’s style of parenting a lot.
  2. My favourite deodorant of all time is Lynx Africa.
  3. I get slightly contemptuous of people who use the phrase ‘let it go’ because it displays a complete lack of understanding.
  4. I love being in airports between flights I’m taking.
  5. I don’t regret anything I’ve done in my life as it’s made me who I am today.
  6. I get irritated when people confuse passion and single-mindedness with obsession, when women use their monthly ordeal as an excuse to be unpleasant, and when people get prudish and object to references to sexual activities.
  7. My favourite aftershave / cologne is Obsession by Calvin Klein.
  8. I’ve never met anyone who loves as deeply as I do.
  9. The four times I remember crying in my entire life were when I first sprained my ankle, when my mother passed, when my daughter passed, and about two weeks ago.
  10. I’m scared of something particular that all women have.
  11. I read one book about every two days.
  12. I once seriously considered becoming (at different times) Jewish, Muslim, and Christian and realised none of them were for me because of the religions judgemental views on homosexuality. Nobody has the right to cast judgement on what consenting adults do in privacy.
  13. About 80% of people I know in Kenora incorrectly assume that I’m into men.
  14. I was playing table soccer with my former boss. He scored a goal and I was about to drop the ball onto the table when he said ‘drop it like it’s hot’… so I literally dropped it like it’s hot all the way down to the floor and back up hahahaha!
  15. I love Marmite.
  16. My taste in music gets called gay a LOT because I’m not a commercial-music-whore.
  17. I used to live in a house where Adolf Hitler’s former second in command stayed once and where there was a secret room which the allies used as a radio room in the war.
  18. I’d not hesitate in sacrificing my life for a loved one if I thought it would save theirs, or going hungry to give a loved one my last dollar if they needed it.
  19. I deeply resent the way the BBC News website uses the American dollar as a scale when reporting on financial matters and the way they act like America is the only country in North America.
  20. I miss British tv shows such as Brookside and Hollyoaks.
  21. I hate the way many people in Canada think Coronation Street is the best tv show to come out of England.
  22. I’d give anything to have the lady I love.
  23. I’m going to the gym seven days a week when I know I shouldn’t.
  24. I truly believe in the healing power of hugs and hug as often as I can (but not blokes because that’s just weird).
  25. I’m almost guaranteed going to do ANOTHER list of 25 things about myself.

Nazi camp doctor ‘died in 1992′

ZDF said Aribert Heim died of cancer

Aribert Heim, one of the most wanted Nazi criminals, has been dead since 1992, German’s ZDF television reports.

It says Heim, known as “Doctor Death” lived under a pseudonym and died in Egypt’s capital, Cairo.

ZDF says it found Heim’s passport and other personal documents in a hotel where he lived.

Heim was a concentration camp doctor and was accused of killing hundreds of concentration camp victims, using horrific medical experiments.

In its report, ZDF quoted witnesses, including Heim’s son, as confirming that he died in 1992.

The German TV channel also said Heim had converted to Islam.

Leading Nazi hunter Efraim Zuroff from the Simon Wiesenthal Centre said he had not seen the documents found by ZDF.

But he added that if confirmed, the news would be “earth shattering”, the Associated Press reports.

Heim was one of the last major Nazi fugitives believed to be still at large.

He is accused of carrying out horrible medical experiments on prisoners of the Mauthausen concentration camp in Austria during World War II.

After the war he lived in West Germany, working as a doctor.

He disappeared in 1962 when police opened an investigation into his past.

Practical Priorities

I was speaking to someone today and I became just a touch angry… as I found out once again, as is the story of my life, that people assume too much.

The person was saying that they were shocked to find out that I feel worse about losing a lady I love to another man than I do about my mother passing on.

I look at it from a practical realistic point of view.  My mother is dead and has been for ten years.  It is final and Read more...

Israel finally pays for a murder they committed

The family of James Miller (the British journalist murdered by an Israeli soldier in Gaza) have accepted a payment  of £1.5million from Israel.

They haven’t admitted their wrongdoing and made an official apology, but this is the closest thing the Miller family will ever get.  Too bad the IDF are a bunch of arrogant murdering thugs who won’t admit when they’re wrong.

It’s pretty fucked up considering that after Palestinian thugs fired rockets into Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert vowed a disproportionate response.  It’s ridiculous how they can so blatantly tell the world they’ll overreact, and yet nobody does a thing.

Barack Obama needs to send a Battle Group into the  Mediterranean and force the Israeli’s to abide by international law.
